I've just insured Rossi with Greenbee and it's £31 per month. I've never claimed for him on any insurance and he's only four. I changed from M&S because I couldn't have two premiums coming out at the same time every month, but as it turns out Greenbee want to take premiums 3 days later anyway.

Sadly poor Vinnie has always made very good use of his insurance ever since he was a pup! :( In fact there hasn't been a year in his 6 years that we haven't claimed & it has always cost way over what the premium has been or any money that I could put aside. I just thank god that I insured him!
The insurance has reached it's limit on his liver torsion & almost to the limit on GDV now, if I hadn't had the insurance I wouldn't have been able to manage.
I would like to be able to say that I had never had to make a claim & that he has been a healthy dog. :(
Run Free Vinnie!!! 29.01.2004 - 15.02.2010.
There's a hole in my heart where Vinnie has passed through,
when we said goodbye part of me went too....xx

Vinnie was insured with More Than. They have been excellent! His insurance was £25.99 a month, it did creep up from his initial cover, but that was a good premium compared to the quotes I have seen.
I'm very sad we needed to make such use of the insurance, but at the same time glad we had it!! Poor Vinnie he was such a wonderful dog & I miss him desperately!!!   /love/ /love/ /love/

Louie's insurance has just gone up - or will next month - to £62 a month!! It is currently £45. I have to say though that I recently calculated how much we have paid KC over the time we've had Lou and even if I work it out using £45 a month for 7 years (it started much lower) they have paid out far more than we have paid them. So although - to some extent like Louise - I wish we hadn't had to claim anything it still feels like we got the better end of the financial deal. And like Louise I am very glad that we had him insured otherwise I don't know what we would have done...

With regards claiming more with an older dog. Holly has MCTs since the age of 8, she is now 14. She is no longer treated for them. Plus she hasn't really had any illnesses in the past 4 years, that she wouldn't have had being a younger dog.
I think in the past 4 years she has seen the vet approx 4/5 times with minor complaints. They did seem serious to me at the time though  But easily sorted with ABs, so no real major expense.

Wilson is insured with Argos £31 per month, Millie with Sainsburys £15.50 per month. Argos have been wonderful. They have now paid out for 2 TPLO operations around £6800. Never queried anything and paid out within 2weeks   great service. I have never claimed for Millie so I am able to change her insurance each year to whoever will give me the cheapest quote.

We have always covered our 'girls' with insurance since 1991 - starting with dear Jazzy and we have surely made some mistakes along the line with wrong choices.

My lovely Maddie (RIP 2007) was only insured for a round sum for a year with Scottish Insurance (via the vet) and yet she had the most dreadful respiratory condition that required so much more financial input and the yearly insurance sum was soon gone. Her 'paltry' insurance was diminished and then we made up the shortfall for everything that she needed. It was not ideal and we were left in huge debt.

I would now much rather go with the companies who provide a revolving cover and more flexibility with possibly higher monthly payments.

Milly's did not go up too much with greenbee - for £15 to £17 (2.5 years)- think we can stand that!
Have moved Manuex (aged 9) from Axa to JBI £220pa
